Pygmy Zoo in Ajman is located in the Al Zorah area. It is a farm kind of zoo and has different animals in it. I found a number of animals in the zoo—a place where you bond well with nature. The relaxing atmosphere makes you unwind from stress. Family seating areas, handwashing stations, play areas, feeding counters, restaurants, and well-maintained washrooms exist. It is a great place to enjoy for both kids and adults.
The ticket counter is at the entrance of the zoo. The tickets are pretty reasonable for the adventure you get to explore in exchange. The price for adults is 15 AED and for kids is 10 AED. As soon as you enter the zoo, you see a number of restaurants on your left and different games, horse, and camel ride on your right. A counter is also available at the entrance where you can purchase coupons for games and rides. Also, I bought a packet of carrots and grass for 5 AED each to feed the animals from the same counter. We went into the zoo and saw goats, lamb, sheep, cats, dogs, puppies, donkeys, camel, rats, cock, hens, etc.
There is a separate section specially made for birds where we see owls, white pigeons, and eagles. There were distinct varieties of colorful parrots. I held the parrot on my armpit and we clicked pictures together. Even the staff was helpful and was helping the kids to get along with the animals. The kids were also allowed to take the small trained parrot in their hands. It was a varied experience altogether.
There is a mini safari also situated in the zoo. I was stunned to see the animals and the way they maintained it with utter cleanliness. We saw camels, ostrich, deer, horses, etc. An artificial small pond was made in which there were beautiful white quacking ducks and flamingos. I was amazed as I witnessed the flamingos for the first time in my life.
After strolling around the zoo, we took a small break and enjoyed karak tea with hot fresh luqaimats topped with date syrup.
There are sections for private spaces for huge families where you can get your mats, food, and barbeque items while also exploring nature’s beauty. You can get your own khaymas booked in advance.
While the adults enjoy the khaymas, there is a big play area for kids. There are slides, swings, trampoline for the kids to enjoy. The kids were having a lovely time where they could go and dance on the stage with their favorite songs and nursery rhymes.
If you want to grab a bite, restaurants serve tornadoes, pizzas, burgers, snacks, chips, soft drinks, etc. A pet shop is available just on the left side of the entrance where you can purchase a pet of your choice.
Overall we spent a lovely evening with our family and made beautiful memories. The kids too enjoyed and had an unforgettable experience interacting with the animals.
