Dubai caters to a list of supermarkets where you can purchase fresh food items at an affordable price. There are a number of deals and promotions going on in vivid supermarkets to make the shopping experience pleasant and pocket-friendly. I would like to share some of the well-known names of hypermarkets.
Here is a list of my recommendations:
LIST OF SUPERMARKETS IN DUBAI
With so many options around the corner, it becomes difficult to decide from where we could get the best quality fresh produce without burning a hole in our pocket. Dubai is a cosmopolitan population in the emirate, there are all kinds of hypermarkets available in the city to cater to everyone’s needs. Large chains of supermarkets are mostly available in the malls and small grocery stores are available in the residential communities to make the grocery run easy. Being accessible in the mall gives an ideal experience for the shoppers to stock up for essential needs and also if you are in for a weekend retail therapy.
1. Nesto Hypermarket
Nesto is a huge hypermarket and has its own 2-3 story kind of mall. It has almost everything for everyone. Fresh fruits, vegetables, meat, chicken, seafood, spices, dairy products, rice, flour chocolates, skincare products, day-to-day household essentials, bakery items, dry fruits, electronics, kitchen products, clothing, baby products, and many more items are attainable here.
The hypermarket is divided into sections like- food items, clothing stores, and kitchen and day-to-day requirements. They often come up with amazing deals and promotions which make shopping easier and more comfortable. Bakery items and fresh food counters are at one’s disposal. I really liked the Syrian Olive oil which was fresh and without any added preservatives. Household items and baby products are available at good offer.
Nesto has its own App called ‘Inaam’ where you can purchase and collect points in your account and redeem them for your next purchases. Some of the huge stores are available in Al Nahda, Karama, Al Mina, Meena Bazaar, Jabal Ali, and Al Warsan.

There are more than 215 Lulu outlets widely spread across GCC (Gulf Co-operation Council). Lulu is attainable to shoppers in more than 13 malls across Dubai. It is more popular among the Indian ex-pats living in the country.

They also have an organic section for fruits and veggies. They have a bakery where daily fresh loaves of bread, buns, brioche bread, hot fluffy Lebanese bread, baguette, and fruit buns are prepared. You can choose your bread according to your preference.
A live section where fresh pizzas are baked in the wood brick oven is definitely a must-try. All types of food items like parathas, chaats, fried chicken, burgers, rice dishes, and gravies are attainable for takeaway.
There are many outlets across the city. Some of the largest outlets are in Al Qusais, Karama. Arabian Center in Al Mizhar, Al Barsha, Waterfront Market (Diera). It is also available in Dubai Festival City Mall.

There are many brands displaying their products and offering great deals and promotions.
Shaklan Market is located at the Al Mamzar Centre, Al Nahda, International City, Muhaisnah.
5. Carrefour Hypermarket
Carrefour is one of the leading hypermarket chains in Dubai and has several branches across the city. Carrefour is a one-stop shop for all daily needs. It has a furniture store, clothing section, toy store, electronics, household items, kitchen appliances, cookware, and whatnot. You name it and they have it. They also have a furniture store from where I bought a set of outdoor furniture for my balcony which I got in a steal deal in their Dubai Summer Sale.
To add on, it also has an organic section. From fresh fruits, vegetables, meat, chicken, fish, cheese, and dates to freshly baked seeded slices of bread and desserts, they have it all. They have perfect affordable gifting options like a box of assorted dates and mixed baklavas. I would recommend you try their fresh croissants and baguette. My personal favorite is the cream croissant. A live food section is accessible.
They have an app called SHARE app where you get rewards in the form of points for every purchase you make and can redeem it later. Also, there is a Carrefour app where you can order your daily needs online if you are not in for a grocery run.
There are many more grocery stores in Dubai that are well-known and are serving quality ingredients to customers for many years. Some of them are:
- Madina Supermarket
